Tribes: Ascend introduced melee combat into the Tribes universe. Melee attacks are performed by pressing the "E" (by default) key at any time and deals 900 damage on hit. The melee attack has a long after-attack delay. Melee attacks can be utilized by any class on enemies in situations such as an unsuspecting enemy or in close quarters to finish an enemy off. The melee attack is probably most useful for the Infiltrator as the stealth pack lowers the risk while getting close to enemies. A successful backstab when combined with the Close Combat perk will deal 1800 damage.
