The Light Spinfusor is one of the five Spinfusor variants in Tribes: Ascend, and is the initial primary weapon for the Pathfinder class. It fires a straight-flying disc projectile that explodes on contact with any surface or after six seconds. Its direct hit damage is shared with the Soldier's Thumper D at 770.
The weapon is modeled after the Tribes 2 Spinfusor, even though its been designated as the "light" version.
A direct mid-air kill with this weapon will award the "Blue Plate Special" accolade.

The Light Spinfusor offers the same impulse as the Bolt Launcher with lower self damage when disc jumping. Because of this, the Light Spinfusor has slightly more utility than the Bolt Launcher to a capper, in addition to the projectile travelling in a straight line, making it easier to aim.
Since the Light Spinfusor's projectile travels in a straight line, the weapon can be used to disc snipe base defenses from afar. The low damage of the weapon forces this tactic to be a last resort, however, as the same task can be accomplished much more effectively with the Soldier's Spinfusor, Brute's Heavy Spinfusor, or the Juggernaut's Fusion Mortar.
