Credits

Credits are awarded to players during games for killing people and getting accolades. Credits do not carry over to future matches and can only by spent in the game where you earned them. On the scoreboard, the "Score" listed is your accumulated total of credits during the match. Spending credits does not lower your score.

In the Arena gamemode, credits carry over between rounds. It's therefore common to see Orbital Strikes being used in rounds 2 and 3.

To maximize your credit income, equip yourself with the Bounty Hunter perk.
